We’ve introduced a number of sustainable food initiatives on campus. These include using seasonal food, reducing meat consumption, reducing food waste and minimising packaging – we no longer serve disposable takeaway drinks cups, for example. Our aim is to reduce the environmental impact of the food we eat. We’re committed to using and selling ethically sourced food in our hospitality outlets and catering services.

In January 2023, we launched the Institute for Sustainability (IfS). IfS aims to provide Bath's ever-expanding multidisciplinary research community with the leadership, resources and support needed to make a difference in tackling some of the most pressing issues facing society.
